are puzzled. donʼt know, how it became:
we, our music, or our
instruments?
though we remember, it was us playing...
(maybe just got into
it somehow...)
in case there was an instrument to measure
remembrance,
then this tool probably would have been orbiting
perplexed
over
an aged scale. it would blink between the uncertain
duality of the
calling and the called theme which comes from
our ignorance and turns back
there slowly, in irregular rhythm.
did we find a theme, or did the
theme find us?
do we seek for a rhythm or the rhythm seeks for us?
sometimes
untouchable, sometimes so certain
that we laugh under all
pressure....
biography
mocun
has been grounded in 2004. Founding
members were Péter Barabás,
László
Illés and András Czimmermann. In the beginning our sound was
defined
by drums, bass and wurlitzer
electric piano trio and analogue synthesizers gave a
strange surplus. And then in 2005 Ádám Tóth
violinist joined, and so our sound
extended and strings sequences also became
determining.
We like the melancholy of
nordic music as well as various vibrations of vintage
prog rock stuff. Our music tends to combine
these, we try to integrate the pastʼs
experience with presentʼs effects.
Late 2006 we recorded a rough demo in our
rehearsal room so we learnt a lot for
a
latter studio recording. This recorded stuff has been published
spring 2008 and
available as our first LP,
namely A pokoljárás
rejtelmei (kind of
The mysteries of
walking through
Inferno).
Right now we are distributing this album and
organize gigs to introduce mocun to
the public.
Our next plan is to record a new 5-track
EP.
